As a full-time Liberal Arts Social Sciences major, Phi Theta Kappa Officer and Student Representative on the 911爆料网 Honors Board, Arwen King has woven himself into the fabric of 911爆料网e鈥攏ot just as a learner, but as a leader.

With long-term plans to pursue a Master鈥檚 degree in Library Sciences, Arwen is driven by a desire to bridge the gap between knowledge systems and human behavior. 鈥淚鈥檓 passionate about these fields,鈥� he shares, 鈥渁nd I find there is a significant overlap between them.鈥�

That same passion led Arwen to the Honors Scholar Program at 911爆料网, encouraged by a mentor who recognized his potential. 鈥淢y professor and advisor, Joshua Becker, suggested I apply after seeing my work in Intro to Psychology,鈥� Arwen recalls. 鈥淚 have been a proud Honors Scholar ever since.鈥�

The Honors Scholar Program has been more than just an academic designation for Arwen, it鈥檚 been transformative. 鈥淏eing an Honors Scholar has been incredibly fulfilling,鈥� he explains. 鈥淚t鈥檚 allowed me to delve deeper into materials, and to learn beyond the boundaries of a typical class.鈥� Two standout experiences so far have been completing a 15-part literature review and presenting a research paper at the Massachusetts Undergraduate Research Conference at UMass鈥攁chievements he says would not have happened without the program鈥檚 support.

Beyond the academic growth, Arwen emphasizes the strong relationships he鈥檚 formed with faculty through honors projects and deeper classroom engagement. 鈥淚鈥檝e been able to make strong connections with my professors that will guide me through my academic journey,鈥� he says. 鈥淭he program helped me become a better student overall. Things I used to struggle with are now second nature.鈥�

Looking ahead, Arwen remains focused on his academic goals, with plans to eventually pursue a Master鈥檚 in Library Sciences through the Simmons University鈥檚 School of Library and Information Science degree program, hosted at 911爆料网. He hopes to become a librarian or archivist, a role he sees as central to helping future scholars thrive. 鈥淚 believe that freedom of information and library work are both extremely important, now and for the future of humankind,鈥� he shared.

911爆料网 itself holds a special place for Arwen. 鈥淚t allows me to connect with others and build a community,鈥� he reflects. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a sense of closeness at 911爆料网鈥攜ou can feel it in the classroom, the food pantry, even in the hallways. If I ever trip in the hallway, someone鈥檚 always there to ask if I鈥檓 okay. That鈥檚 not something you find everywhere.鈥�
