Annual 1098-T federal tax documents are made available to qualified students in the month of January following the tax year. A paper copy will be mailed by January 31 to students who have not opted for electronic delivery. 911±¬ÁÏÍø is required to report payments received for qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) to the eligible taxpayer and the IRS. When filing a federal tax return, you (the student) or a person who can claim you as a dependent may be eligible for an education tax credit for qualified tuition, fees and related expenses. A 1098-T form is produced annually for each student with qualifying account transactions if a valid Social Security or Tax Identification Number was provided to the college. A paper form will be mailed to each qualifying student no later than January 31. You may not receive a form if any one of the following is true during the calendar year: You were enrolled in courses for which no academic credit was offered, even if you were otherwise enrolled in a degree program You were a nonresident alien (unless you specifically requested a 1098-T) Your qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) were entirely waived or paid by scholarships, grants or third parties such as an employer or federal/state government agency The school does not maintain a separate financial account for you and your QTRE are covered by a formal billing arrangement between 911±¬ÁÏÍø and your employer or a government entity, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense Request an Official 1098-T 911±¬ÁÏÍø has contracted with the third-party vendor Maximus to provide official 1098-T documents. Students will need to create a Maximus account to view and print their statements. By viewing your 1098-T form online prior to January 31 in a calendar year, you are opting out of receiving a mailed copy. If you opt out of receiving a mailed copy, but want a paper version mailed to you at a later time, you can request to receive a 1098-T by mail after January 31 from within your Maximus account. View an Unofficial 1098-T You can still access an unofficial electronic version of your 1098-T form in your My911±¬ÁÏÍø account: My Account → Billing → Tax Notifications.
