The Office of Student Leadership & Engagement<\/strong>\u00a0is at the heart of the 911爆料网 student community<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

We strive to create conditions where students may take an active role in the student body, and attain a sense of personal investment in 911爆料网. We do this by creating opportunities for students to create or join a club, participate in student governance, and attend educational, cultural, and social events. These shared experiences allow students to develop important skills, including leadership and governance, teamwork, budgeting, communication, and active citizenship.<\/p>\n

\n Last month the crafting club celebrated Black History Month with a painting project inspired by trailblazing African American artist Alma Thomas. Alma was the first graduate of Howard University`s art program, and carved a space for herself in a predominantly white and male-dominated art world in the `60s. She was the first Black woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She was a leader in the color field painting style and Incorporated nature and the cosmos into her work.

Participants made miniature Alma- inspired abstract paintings using her signature style.
